While on his way to the United States, Slovak MEP Branislav Škripek (OĽaNO-NOVA) was held at an airport in Istanbul for two days and didn't make it to America in the end. Škripek was heading to a National Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C., which was to be attended by President Trump. However he was delayed in Istanbul by Turkish security officers, who saw stamps from Middle Eastern countries in his passport, where Škripek allegedly went to monitor the situation in refugee camps and education for orphans. His travel authority ESTA was scrapped and he wasn't able to apply for a new one because of the collapsing overburdened system.
