During Slovakia's EU Council presidency last year, Bratislava committed itself to becoming a modern, dynamic and an innovative city of smart solutions. The first proof of this commitment is the new "smart" bench, which was installed on February 1 at Primacialne namestie (Primatial square). The smart bench provides phone charging possibilities and a wireless internet connection. It is charged by solar energy and has built-in sensors that collect information on temperature, air-pressure, humidity as well as on the composition of atmospheric gases or the number of users.
