Honorary Slovak consulate opened in Haifa, Israel

Deputy Chairman for investments, Peter Pellegrini, opened an honorary Slovak consulate in the Israeli city of Haifa on Tuesday, along with a representative of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Meron Reuben and the Slovak ambassador in Israel Peter Hulényi. Josef Pickel has taken the role of consular officer. At the opening, Pellegrini stated that Haifa is a city of great potential in the spheres of trade, technology and research, as well as being home to one of the strongest academic centres in Israel. While in Israel, Pellegrini spoke at the opening of the CyberTech 2017 World Conference in Tel Aviv, then on Wednesday visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem and also signed a Slovak-Israeli declaration of cooperation in promoting the digitisation of the public sector.
