Low avalanche risk

Low avalanche risk

The snow cover in the mountains is generally compact and stable and avalanches are now possible only in the event of large additional loading in very steep terrain, according to Anton Sedlak from the Avalanche Prevention Centre of the Mountain Rescue Service. "A small avalanche danger remains in all the Slovak mountains: the first level of the five-part international scale," he said adding that the stabilization of snow was caused by the sunny weather and low temperatures, especially on the sunny southern slopes.
