Two Slovaks among top 100 players in NHL history

Former Slovak ice hockey players, Stan Mikita and Peter Štastný, were listed among the top 100 players in the history of the National Hockey League. A Committee of 58 league officials, former players and journalists announced the names at a ceremony on the eve of the all-stars game day on Saturday. The event took place on the centenary of the foundation of the league. Stan Mikita, who is now 76, played 22 seasons in the league, all of them in Chicago Blackhawks, finishing his career in 1980. Peter Štastný, who turned 60 last year, retired in 1995, having played 15 seasons with Quebec Nordiques, New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues.
