On the occasion of the international Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Slovak Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on Slovakia's continuing support for initiatives aimed at remembering atrocities of WWII with special respect to Holocaust victims. In 2016, the Holocaust Museum opened a permanent exhibition in a former concentration camp at Sereď near Bratislava. The Foreign Ministry said that the government is especially nowadays aware of the importance and urgency of remembering historic events and failures that led to the war and the largest tragedy in human history.
