Highest French decoration for Slovak

Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces Milan Maxim was awarded the highest French decoration - the National Order of the Legion of Honour. The decoration was presented by French Ambassador to Slovakia Christophe Leonzi on Monday. The French Embassy press attaché Didier Rogasik told TASR press agency that Maxim had contributed to the development of joint activities between France and Slovakia. Moreover, France appreciates his commitment towards building cooperation, peace and security in the world. The Legion of Honour, established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, is the highest French order for military and civil merits. It is one of the most highly regarded awards in the world and it has served as a model for many foreign countries.
