Slovakia will be hit by low temperatures in the coming days, according to a warning issued by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ). The temperatures will affect almost the entire territory representing potential danger to human activities including the risk of endangering human health. On Wednesday and Thursday temperatures are expected to drop to -20 to -24 degrees Celsius in many localities in the Nitra, Trenčín, Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Prešov and Košice regions. For the Bratislava and Trnava regions the temperature is estimated at -15 to -20 degrees Celsius. Drivers should be cautious due to the formation of snow and snowdrift patches.
