On Monday, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met José Ángel Gurría secretary-general of the OECD in Paris, France. There, they signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation in fighting corruption. In this document, Slovakia promises to implement more intensive anti-corruption initiatives and special control mechanisms. At present, the country cooperates with other OECD member states through the National Criminal Agency and Special Expert Committee for fighting corruption. The Slovak prime minister also gave a speech at the OECD Council where he summed up the results of the Slovak Presidency of the EU Council and set out the country's goals for the coming period.
