On Monday, assembly lines in Volkswagen Bratislava, one of the largest employers in the country will restart operations after a scheduled winter break. Approximately 10,000 workers will return to work. The VW group's other plants in Martin, central Slovakia and Stupava in the West have already gone back to work last week. The break was used for reconstruction, building work, and the installation of equipment which cannot be carried out while the plant is in full operation. Since the beginning of production in 1991, Volkswagen Slovakia has produced over 4.5 million vehicles.
