In the early hours of Wednesday morning a burglar broke into the house of former politician and actor Milan Kňažko. Early reports on the website Cas.sk said that Kňažko mounted resistance to the burglar and even shot him with a handgun. Kňažko refused to provide any further details, due to the fact that a police investigation is still pending. According to the criminal law, Kňažko's case could be treated as necessary self-defense, since the law permits people to defend themselves in the event of a direct threats or sustained attack against life, health or property. Milan Kňažko is a Slovak actor and former politician, also known as a spokesman and leader of the 1989 Velvet Revolution.
