Due to the formation of ice on the surface of the River Danube, boat traffic has been suspended all the way from Bratislava to the border with Hungary. The Transport office in Bratislava confirmed the suspension at 6pm on Wednesday and it will remain in effect until further notice. Traffic on the Hungarian section of the Danube has been suspended since Tuesday. The Slovak Water Management Enterprise in Bratislava has sent out icebreakers to improve the river's flow.
