This year the Vice-premier for Investments and Informatisation Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) has set a target of filling the remaining gaps in internet coverage and widening access to modern technologies. He believes that for a better quality of life, not only new roads and railways are needed but also digital infrastructure. "After difficult talks with operators, I'm happy to report that we're finally beginning to eliminate 'blank spots', so that there will be no more places in Slovakia without internet by the end of this government., said Pellegrini.
