As many as 16 Slovaks and 22 foreigners who were previously employed in elite world institutions are now working in the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The elite workers come to Slovakia thanks to the SASPRO mobility programme for scientists. "We provide them with relatively lucrative salaries as well as room and finances for research. We are running three year projects and the scheme seems to be working well for us, said the chair of the Academy, Pavol Šajgalík.
