The Slovak National Party's Chairman, Andrej Danko, has proposed that political parties that wish to run in parliamentary elections should have a certain minimum number of members. Danko says that this would require a major amendment to the Act on Political Parties. He points that rules stipulating a minimum number of political party members exist in law in some foreign countries. Another proposal is that a party running in the elections should have been registered at least a year before the elections and should not change its name.
