Slovak motorcyclists taking part in the Rally Dakar race didn't experience much luck during Wednesday's 364km long stage. Štefan Svitko had a crash on the 59th km and suffered a few scratches. Ivan Jakeš survived an exceptional accident, when he was struck by lightning during the race. "Ivan is fine and fully conscious. He was extremely lucky that he didn't have his feet on the ground. The rubber tires isolated him from the shock," a member of his team wrote on social networks. Jakeš went to the hospital after completing the stage, and if his medical condition allows it, he should continue in the race.
