On January 2nd, Slovak motorbike racers Štefan Svitko and Ivan Jakeš are starting their campaign in one of their sport's most prestigious events - the 2017 Dakar Rally. Both Slovaks are among the top favourites for the event. Jakeš, who finished fourth in the 2013 race claims he aspires to compete for overall victory. Svitko, who finished second overall last year also has high ambitions before the start. This year, the race starts in Asunción, Paraguay and will end in Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 14th.
