Berlin police arrest seven who set Slovak homeless man on fire

One Libyan and six Syrian migrants were arrested on Tuesday (27 December) by German police after attempting to set a Slovak homeless man on fire on Christmas Eve in a Berlin subway station. The victim is a 37 year old Slovak national. The individuals involved, all males aged 15 to 21, attempted to torch the man as he slept on a bench at Schönleinstraße underground station. After the attack, the assailants boarded a train to escape, with CCTV footage capturing them laughing as the man was burning on the platform. The Slovak victim escaped without injury due to witnesses intervening. An attempted murder investigation has been launched.
