President Kiska calls for faster investigation of political scandals

President Andrej Kiska criticized slow progress in dealing with political scandals during an appearance on the political discussion TV show of the public broadcaster RTVS, "Five minutes to twelve". He said that disciplinary actions are needed to be taken much faster in cases like the recent suspicions regarding overpriced events for the Slovak Presidency of the EU Council. He believes that cases should be cleared up in weeks rather than years. The president also criticized the slow investigation of other cases, above all the findings of the secret surveillance operation known as 'Gorila', which alleged that many of Slovakia's top politicians engaged in corrupt deals.
