The Supreme Audit Office is under no obligation to carry out an audit at the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry in connection with allegedly overpriced cultural events linked to Slovakia's Council of the EU Presidency. The Slovak Parliament did nto vote through a parliamentary foreign committee resolution to that effect.
According to the resolution, the Supreme Audit Office was supposed to look into adherence to regulations and efficiency in handling public funds at the ministry during public procurement procedures related to the Slovak presidency. According to the committee, the inspection would have strengthened public confidence in the work of the authorities.
