The right of expatriate Slovaks to vote abroad via mail in early elections, proposed by opposition Freedom and Solidarity and OĽaNO NOVA party MPs, has been defeated in Parliament. Under the proposal, qualified voters would have been allowed to vote through the post in municipal elections, the first round of regional elections, the first round of presidential elections as well as in elections to the European Parliament.
