On the evening of the First Sunday of Advent, Parliamentary Speaker Andrej Danko opened a Christmas market at Bratislava Castle. It is a new event apart from the traditional downtown market. 'Advent at the Castle' will run until December 18 with a dozen kiosks on the Western Terrace, a live Nativity tableau, music and Christmas decorations. Traditional mead, mulled wine and cabbage soup will be among the top items for sale. "It isn't a market for the elite but for everyone," said the speaker of the Slovak Parliament. The parliament has its building next to Bratislava Castle and it is responsible for the castle's administration.
