Bratislava Music Festival to host world stars

Slovakia's top classical music event starts this Friday. The 52nd Bratislava Music Festival will open with a concert of the Slovak philharmonic conducted by Briton James Judd. The opening night will feature world famous master violinist Vadim Repin in the Violin Concerto in A minor by Dmitry Shostakovich. Other star guests performing in Bratislava include the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam - ranked 2nd in the top ten world orchestras according to a poll of music critics conducted by the classical music database Bachtrack, the Dresden Philharmonic and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Music lovers can also hear elite Slovak performers playing masterpieces of Slovak classical music in the festival that runs until December 4th.
