Marek Svatoš, a 34-year-old retired ice hockey player and former member of the Slovak national team who also played in the NHL passed away on Saturday (5/11), reported numerous media outlets on Sunday. According to information published, Svatoš died of a drug overdose. Marek Svatoš, was one of the biggest talents within Slovak ice hockey in the early 2000s. He had a highly successful rookie season in 2005-06 with the NHL, however, never repeated his performance due to injuries. He played his last match for his native Košice in 2014. He is survived by his wife, Diana, and two children.
