Slovak Prime Minister in Malta for EU Presidency meeting

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico left for Malta on Friday (4/11) as part of a meeting with the trio of leaders involved in the rotating Presidency of the EU Council, along with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Ruttem and Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat. The basis for the joint meeting will be reviewing the implementation of the objectives and priorities of the presidential trio, the coordination of joint activities, and the October summit of the European Council in Brussels. The statesmen are also expected to discuss preparations for Malta's upcoming role as the successive President of the EU Council. The Republic of Malta will take over the six-monthly presidency from Slovakia on January 1, 2017.
