Prime Minister Robert Fico (SMER-SD) is interested in good relations with President Andrej Kiska, stating this at a news briefing on Thursday in response to the president's statements in an interview published in the latest issue of the weekly Trend. "Slovakia needs cooperation of the highest constitutional representatives and I absolutely refuse the conflict in which they are trying to drag us into. I have responsibility for Slovakia, and therefore insist on my three positions. I am against the creation of a coherent Muslim community in Slovakia, I am fundamentally opposed to mandatory [refugee] quotas. Similarly, with regard to the conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, both parties have responsibilities arising from the Minsk agreements and I refuse to look at as black and white as maybe some other countries do. Regarding the UK, I will fight so that those 80,000 Slovaks who live and work in the UK are not victims of an attempt to make them second class citizens", he said, adding that he has no reason to change his views.
