According to estimates by the website Heureka.sk, Slovaks are expected to spend €815 million at e-shops this year, which would amount to year-on-year growth of €112 million or 16 percent from last year's €703 million. E-shop revenue is bound to swell in the upcoming Christmas retail season. "E-shops are used for purchases before Christmas mostly by experienced customers who place e-shop orders often," said head of Heureka.sk Tomáš Braverman. However, online purchases are also made by customers who aren't e-store regulars but already boast some experience in this regard. "Of course, every year there are also new customers, for whom it's Christmas season that provides the incentive to make their first online purchase," added Braverman. Heureka.sk recorded increased interest in e-purchases of food and beverages, cosmetic products, health, clothing and fashion, house and garden equipment. "This means that consumers are not interested primarily in electronics anymore," concluded Braverman.
