UN Committee questions Slovakia regarding human rights

Gender equality and segregation of Roma children were the two main topics which the UN Committee asked the Slovak delegation in Genève last weekend, wrote SITA press agency. The committee was reportedly interested in the forced sterilisation of Roma women, transsexuals, as well as protection of the LGBTI community. In its reaction, Slovakia pointed to its adoption of the National Strategy for Human Rights Protection and Promotion in 2015, which according to Igor Skoček of the Foreign Ministry's press department reflects Slovakia's modern attitude in the protection of human rights in the context of applying international commitments.
