Following an EU foreign ministers meeting on Monday, Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák told the Slovak Press Agency TASR that the ministers agreed on the need to halt the bombing of the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo. They showed their resolve to bring the suffering of civilians to an end and called for the resumption of humanitarian aid.
If any of the parties involved in the conflict failed to stop the bombing and enable humanitarian aid supplies to get through, the EU is ready to adopt sanctions against it, said Lajčák.
