Employers in the European Union will have to be stricter with controlling carcinogenic substances in working places. The revised directive protecting workers was approved by European labour ministers in Luxembourg on Thursday. The Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council was chaired by the Slovak Minister Jan Richter as part of the Slovak presidency of the EU council. The number of dangerous cancer-causing chemicals on the list has been increased, with employers needing to adhere to the stricter limits for exposure in the workplace.
