The Slovak government has approved a minimum wage increase from 405 to 435 euro per month. It will thus reach 52 percent of the average monthly wage in 2017, one per cent up on this year. "It will have a positive impact on citizens receiving the minimum wage, as well as on parents, if one of them is employed. It is important to increasing the minimum wage so that citizens have the incentive to seek employment," Labour, Social Affairs and Family Minister Jan Richter representing the ruling Smer SD party has said.
