The summit of the EU Speakers of Parliament in Bratislava last weekend brought serious discussions on the issue of national and European politics, said Slovak Speaker of Parliament Andrej Danko. According to him, the international politicians called the summit a huge breakthrough; the debate was constructive and it will continue in April, when the Speakers of Parliament should publish a declaration and particular statements. Slovak MEP Eudard Kukan praised the timing of the summit, which he called humble and not difficult. His Slovak colleague Jana Žitňanská also sees the summit positively. However, "from my experience, the most difficult task is only to come. It is how to use our rights and competences wisely, bringing benefits to the EU citizens," said Žitňanská.
