Europe is resolved to continue with joint efforts in 2017, as it has to find the strength to overcome the current challenges, said Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák at the beginning of a conference in Washington on Thursday. The conference with the title 'Stronger with Allies: The Future of Europe after Brexit' was organised by the Atlantic Council in cooperation with Slovakia's Presidency of the Council of the EU.
"Our main goal is to bring the European Union closer to Europeans. We have to restore credibility and show that the EU functions and makes the lives of ordinary people safer and better," stated Lajčák. The minister has emphasised the importance of EU-US relations.
