The state-run passenger railway company ZSSK is to resume operation of commercial InterCity (IC) trains between Bratislava and Košice from Sunday, December 11 when the new timetable comes into effect. Four trains will serve on the main local railway route on a daily basis while two will run from Bratislava to Košice and two in the opposite direction. Minister of Transport, Construction, and Regional Development Árpád Érsek (MOST-HID) believes that the elimination of IC trains earlier this year was not right.
