Slovak tourism is experiencing its most historically successful year since its separation from the Czech Republic in 1993. In the first half of 2016, 2.3 million tourists visited Slovakia, representing an annual growth of 18.9%. Moreover, incomes from accommodation grew by almost a quarter compared to last year. Hotel managers and other entrepreneurs also confirmed that the trend continued in July and August. Thus, according to the Slovak Tourism association, the sphere of tourism confirms its importance and its asset for the entire economy.
