Professional school organisations as well as school unions are continuing to insist on a 25% hike in teachers' salaries, reported TASR on Thursday. This was in reaction to the first offer from the government which only approved a salary increase of less than 1% after collective bargaining. School unions are discussing further protests with a strike as the last resort. The Education Ministry promised to maximum efforts to give teachers more than the 1% rise. However it does not want to specify its vision and is waiting for the end of the collective bargaining.
