Slovakia placed 65th in this year's competitiveness ranking of the World Economy Forum in Switzerland, reported TASR. Compared to 2015, the country improved by two places in the ranking which is based on research conducted among entrepreneurs. The results reflect a mild improvement of Slovakia's activity, however only four EU member states (Croatia, Cyprus, Greece and Hungary) were listed behind the country. "The Slovak score has only moderately improved in the spheres of technology and innovation. Therefore, the reason for improvement is based on the worsening situation of other countries," said Peter Kremský, Executive Director of the Slovak Business Alliance. Slovakia scored highest in 2006, finishing at the 37th position and recorded its worst, 78th position, in 2014.
