New hospital in Bratislava could be built in Ružinov or Rázsochy

New university hospital, slated to be built in Bratislava, won't be located in the complex of St. Michael Hospital at Patrónka as was originally planned by the public private-partnership (PPP) project of the previous government of Robert Fico (2012-16), according to the TASR press agency. Health Minister Tomas Drucker (Smer-SD nominee) says the location has proven to be problematic and, therefore, Ružinov borough and Rázsochy are under consideration instead. The minister didn't rule out that a completely different location might be picked at the end of the day, however. In the very first location proposed at Rázsochy, an unfinished building still stands to date - its construction was stopped in 2003 by the second cabinet of Mikuláš Dzurinda (2002-06). In terms of logistics, another viable option is the complex of Ružinov hospital, which could undergo reconstruction and expansion. The issue could be decided based on documents set to be submitted to the Government by mid-November.
