Slovak forward Tomáš Tatar scored the only goal by Team Europe in a 1:3 loss against Canada in the first game of the finals at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, in Toronto, Canada. Since the finals are played as the best of two games series, Canada is now one win away from the overall win at the tournament. The teams will meet again on Thursday. If the Team Europe manages to win, the last match will be played on Saturday, October 1. Having scored the goal, Tatar continues the successful strike of Slovak players, who have scored at least one goal in each game of the tournament.
