Marián Gáborik will not be able to help the Team Europe in the finals of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto, Canada. The Slovak forward, who scored two goals at the tournament, suffered a leg injury in the semi-final against Sweden. Thus, the international squad lost one of its leading players before the best of a two-game series against the biggest favourite of the tournament, Canada. According to media sources, Gáborík will need 8 weeks to recover. Therefore, he will also miss the start of the season in the National Hockey League.
