Despite a decreasing unemployment rate, long-term unemployment remains a problem in Slovakia. In August, Slovakia recorded an all-time record number of the unemployed at 9.4%. Thus, there are about 300,000 jobless people in the country. However, about a half of them have not worked for more than a year now. The Agriculture Ministry offers a solution to the situation, claiming that it can employ even a low skilled workforce in its field.
