Slovak economy to grow by 3.6% this year

Slovakia should once again become one of the fastest growing economies of the European Union with an annual increase of its GDP at 3.6% this year, according to the Finance Ministry. The Ministry also assumes almost 50,000 jobs are to be created and unemployment will decrease in 2016. Next year, the economy should grow by 3.5%, said Finance Minister Peter Kažimír, emphasizing that the outlook includes the possible negative impact of Brexit. For 2018, the Ministry expects the economy to grow by 3.9%, followed by 4.4% in 2019.
