The zoo in the central Slovak town of Bojnice received a one year old male Panda called Hu on Monday. This animal belongs to the endangered 'red panda' species living in southwestern China, India, Bhutan and Myanmar. "It is a new species, which has never been bred here," said Branislav Tám of Bojnice Zoo. He added that the new inhabitant was placed into a newly created Asian section with a purpose-built habitat. In the close future, the zoo should receive another male and later also a female red panda. Subsequently, breeders hope that red panda cubs could be born in Bojnice Zoo.
