Drafts for the the Slovak republic's new security strategy and defence strategy should be introduced by the end of this year, agreed the government on Tuesday. By April 2017, the proposals should be ready for interdepartmental reviewing. The updating of both strategies will increase Slovakia's ability to effectively adopt measures in both fields. Moreover, the implementation of decisions regarding security and defense approved by NATO and the EU will be strengthened. The current strategies were adopted in 2005, shortly after joining NATO and the European Union.
