Slovak boccia team wins gold in Rio

The Slovak boccia team won gold at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro after beating Brazil in the final on Monday. With two golds from shooter Veronika Vadovičová and one gold and one silver from cyclist Jozef Metelka, Slovakia has earned five medals during the first five days of the games. The Slovak team - Róbert Ďurkovič, Michaela Balcová and Samuel Andrejčík - has thus won the first Paralympic gold for the country in this discipline. Boccia is a precision ball sport, similar to pétanque, and is played by athletes with more severe physical disabilities.
