Hundreds of employees from the Bratislava Volkswagen factory have started their protest after the unions failed to reach an agreement with the company's board. They are displeased with the excessive benefits for new employees, which the currently employed workers find discriminatory. Not even a series of negotiations over the last few days was able to avert the protest. "Volkswagen Slovakia provides all its employees with a rich social program and many benefits. At the same time, it deals with suggestions made by the employees and continuously adjusts the program," said Lucia Kovarovič Makayová, spokesperson of the company.
