Shooter Veronika Vadovičová has earned on Thursday the first gold medal for Slovakia, on the first day of the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. The 33-year old Vadovičová won the 10metre air rifle standing SH1 discipline, earning the highest score in the finals in the history of the Paralympics. "After the first six shots in the finals, I didn't even wish for a medal. However, I managed to handle it," she said. Thus, Vadovičová managed to keep a very solid level of performance she set up for herself, having won a gold medal in Beijing 2008 and bronze in London 4 years ago.
