Average salary rose in spring of 2016

The average nominal monthly salary in Slovakia reached €901 in the second quarter of 2016, which represents a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, reported the Slovak Statistics Office. Average nominal salaries grew most rapidly in the real estate sector and in the arts, entertainment and recreation fields. The highest average nominal monthly salary - over €1,800 - was recorded in the financial and insurance areas, followed by the fields of supplying electricity, gas and steam and in the information and communications sector. Conversely, the lowest average nominal salaries were recorded in accommodation and catering services, as well as in construction, arts entertainment and recreation. The annual increase in salaries appeared across all regions of Slovakia.
