European Heritage Days Taking Place in Zvolen

The underground and backstage premises of historical palaces and museums in the town of Zvolen, central Slovakia, are now open to the public until September 11th as part of the European Heritage Days. According to the Culture Ministry, modern sites that aren't included on the list of national cultural monuments such as the University of Zvolen have also joined the project. Meanwhile, the Slovak National Museum is preparing a major exhibition of Slovak Gothic treasures in Rome later this month that includes a total of 35 unique items from Slovakia, including the selected works of the famous 15-16th century Slovak artist the Master Paul of Levoča. Thanks the European Heritage Days organized by the EU Council and European Commission, people in 50 countries have been celebrating Europe's cultural heritage every September since 1991.
