Car export fuels Slovak economy

In the second quarter of 2016, the Slovak economy grew by 3.7% year-on-year. In comparison with the first quarter of 2016, the growth was fuelled by an increased net export, which stemmed from growing demand for new cars in Europe. Thanks to this phenomenon, Slovak carmakers managed to reach their historical maximums in production. However, domestic demand has fallen during this period due to a decreased number of projects financed from Euro Funds. Thus, the growth of the Slovak economy was relatively balanced between foreign and domestic demand.
